  • The author raises a series of problems which must be solved when investigating the effects of violence on television. In the first place, one must define what violence is. Secondly, one must take into account the discursive television genre in which the violence is presented. Thirdly, one must take into account a whole series of factors extraneous to television which have a great influence on people's behaviour.
