Resumen de El desarrollo turístico sostenible: Tren Crucero del Ecuador

  Este artículo presenta un análisis sobre el desarrollo turístico sostenible del Tren Crucero, definido como un producto turístico que comprende una nueva experiencia en lo que se refiere a viajes en ferrocarril en el Ecuador. A bordo del cual los turistas pueden conocer las costumbres y tradiciones ecuatorianas, además de apreciar el paisaje natural a lo largo del trayecto. La metodología aplicada para esta investigación ha sido un diagnóstico del producto turístico a través de la Matriz DAFO para establecer un análisis tanto interno como externo, y posteriormente se realizó un acopio de información de fuentes bibliográficas como propuesta de indicadores para delimitar la sostenibilidad económica, sociocultural y ambiental; parámetros importantes para determinar las razones por las que se prevé la sostenibilidad. Los resultados indican que el Tren Crucero es un producto turístico sostenible que busca no sólo satisfacer las expectativas de los turistas, sino que además promueve la mejorara de la calidad de vida de las comunidades locales, contribuyendo significativamente al desarrollo local

  Sustainable Tourism Development. Tren Crucero Ecuador. This article presents an analysis of the sustainable tourism development of the Tren Crucero, which is defined as a tourist product that understands a new experience with regard to rail journeys in Ecuador. It is on board this train where tourists can familiarize themselves with Ecuadorian customs and traditions, as well as appreciating the natural landscape throughout the journey. The methodology applied for this investigation includes a diagnostic of the tourist product by means of a SWOT analysis, in order to establish both an internal and external analysis and afterwards sources of bibliographic information were gathered as a proposed set of indicators in order to define the economic, sociocultural and environmental sustainability, important parameters that determine the reasons behind which sustainability had been foreseen. The results indicate that the Tren Crucero is a sustainable tourist product that not only looks to satisfy the tourists´ expectations but also to improve the quality of life of the local community, which significantly contributes to the local development
