    Breve bosquejo biográfico de Juan José Arenas, haciendo hincapié en aquellos recuerdos de la infancia y adolescencia que ya prefiguraban su personalidad, así como en los factores familiares que, junto con algunas experiencias viajeras, ayudan a comprender como se forjó su carácter y qué le llevó a elegir como profesión la Ingeniería de Caminos. Se trazan también sus rasgos y cualidades más sobresalientes -tesón, honestidad, autoexigencia, gusto por los retos y el trabajo bien hecho por los que llegó a ser el ingeniero prestigioso y respetado por todos que ha sido. Esa autoexigencia y la inquietud permanente por encontrar soluciones funcionales y bellas han marcado el estilo y la evolución de su obra.

    Brief biographical sketch of Juan José Arenas, emphasizing those memories of childhood and adolescence who already prefigured his personality, as well as the family factors that, together with some traveling experiences, help to understand how his character was forged and what led him to choose as a profession the civil engineering. Their most outstanding traits and qualities - tenacity, honesty, se/f-demanding, taste far work well done and far challenges - are a/so explained as they allowed him to become the prestigious and respected engineer he has been.
