    A la luz de los enfoques actuales del turismo, el propósito fue evaluar el ecoturismo y el geoturismo como alternativas estratégicas para la promoción de un turismo sustentable en Venezuela. Las prácticas que promueven un turismo eficiente, fortalecen una conciencia bioética y sustentable en beneficio de la preservación y valoración del patrimonio nacional y mundial. Investigación documental apoyada en un arqueo bibliográfico sobre la base de un análisis comparativo-interpretativo. Se concluye que el ecoturismo y el geoturismo adquieren relevancia creciente al promover la conciencia ambiental y sociocultural en el individuo, que en su conjunto, se constituyen en condiciones necesarias para el cambio actitudinal deseado, a fin de viabilizar la consolidación de un turista comprometido con el cuidado, protección y defensa ambiental como requisito para preservar la vida en el planeta

    In the light of current approaches to tourism, the purpose of this research was to evaluate the Eco-tourism and Geotourism as strategic alternatives for the promotion of a sustainable tourism in Venezuela. Practices that promote efficient tourism, strengthen awareness bioethics and sustainable for the benefit of the preservation and appreciation of the national and world heritage. Documentary research supported by bibliographic tonnage based on an interpretive-comparative analysis. It is concluded that Eco-tourism and Geotourism acquired growing importance to promote environmental consciousness and socio-cultural in the individual, as a whole, are necessary conditions for the desired attitudinal change, in order to facilitate the consolidation of a tourist committed to the care, protection and environmental defense as a prerequisite for preserving life on the planet.
