  A new genus Aegeofusinus of the family Fasciolariidae is defined to include the small Fusinus species endemic to the Aegean sea. The main morphological characters of the new genus are described. The type species of the genus Fusinus, Fusinus colus (Linnaeus, 1758), the type species of the new genus, Aegeofusinus margaritae (Buzzurro & Russo, 2007), are illustrated together with all the species examined and the radula of the type species.
