Summary procedure, resulting of extensive synergistic work carried out by the medieval legislators of both Laws, was an alternative process to the solemn, more agile and faster. The Saepe Contingit constitution represents the paradigm that will reach its full scholarly maturation on the Bartolus de Sassoferrato’s study about the Constitution Ad Reprimendum. The article briefly explores the steps that lead to the appearance of the summary Rite on the medieval Ius Commune, highlighting the role of Canon law

Il proceso sommario, frutto di un lungo lavoro sinergico realizzato dai legislatori medievali dell’uno e dell’altro diritto, costituí un processo alternativo al solenne, più agile e veloce, del quale la Saepe Contingit rappresenta il paradigma che raggiunge la sua piena maturazione scientifica con il trattato di Bartolo da Sassoferrato sulla Costituzione Ad Reprimendum. Questo articolo si propone l’obiettivo di ripercorrere brevemente i passi che conducono all’emersione del rito sommario nello Ius Commune del Basso Medioevo
