    • A literary criticism of novel "Daphnis and Chloe" by Longus is presented. Topics discussed include the experience of having birds such as swallows, martins, and swifts; analyzes the anecdote about Xenocrates, the disciple of Plato; and motif of the suppliant birdseeking refuge in a human lap, once used by Ovid as a literary device.
