  This article analyses the oral statements of some under-graduate students whotook part in seminars that aimed at discussing the role of Teacher-TrainingPractice (Estágio Supervisionado) in the process of becoming a foreignlanguage educator. Motivated by the topics teaching-learning, theory-practiceand action-research, which emerged from the discussions, a description of thedebates is presented leading to the conclusion that one needs to have an attitudeof investigation in order to improve as a professional teacher.

  A língua Akwe-Xerente apresenta estruturas silábicas fonéticas de altacomplexidade e numerosos processos como apagamento de vogais e vogaisepentéticas, o que torna difícil definir as formas subjacentes das palavras. Aanálise acústica e a análise fonológica nos quadros da teoria autossegmentale da teoria da geometria de traços permitem estabelecer alguns princípios queconduzem à identificação dos tipos de sílaba fonológicos possíveis, bem comodos processos fonológicos encontrados na língua.
