    Neste artigo, analisa-se o papel impulsionador do escritor cabo-verdiano Baltasar Lopes na reativação da revista Claridade em outubro de 1947. Mediante um trabalho comparativo, pautado pela consideração hermenêutica do horizonte histórico em que esse processo se dá, procura-se compreender as relações políticas e existenciais que determinaram a publicação, cerca de seis anos após a sua conclusão, de seu romance Chiquinho. Desse modo, ao se privilegiar os hiatos de publicação e a relação entre os autores com quem dialogava, pretende-se interpretar o modo como é possível identificar, em meio à continuidade, rupturas estéticas fundamentais para a compreensão de sua obra literária.

    In this article, the driving role of the Cape Verdian author Baltasar Lopes in the reactivation of the periodical Claridade in October 1947 is considered. Through a comparative study based on hermeneutical considerations of the historical horizon in which this process took place, a study is undertaken of the political and existential relations that determined its publication.This publication took place around six years after the conclusion of the novel Chiquinho. In this way, in privileging the publication hiatus and the relationship between the authors with whom he dialogued, the study intends to interpret the manner in which it is possible through continuity to identify aesthetic ruptures that are fundamental in understanding his literary output.
