    Este trabalho investiga a ocorrência do mito da Corriveau na tradição doQuebec, de modo a verificar em que medida a leitura que Anne Hébert faz dessafigura difere daquela oferecida, sobretudo, pelos textos de autoria masculina.Enfoca-se o destino histórico, mítico e literário da Corriveau pelo panoramade diferentes modos de sua representação e, em seguida, pela análise de trêsobras literárias: Les Anciens Canadiens (1867), de Philippe A. de Gaspé; UneRelique (1898), de Louis Fréchette, e La Cage (1990), de Anne Hébert.

    This paper investigates the ocurrence of the myth of Corriveau within Quebec’stradition. Its objective is to verify how Anne Hébert’s rewriting of this figurediffers from that offered mainly by texts of male authorship. Focus is given tothe historic, mythic and literary destiny of Corriveau through an overview ofdistinct ways of her representation, followed by the analysis of three literaryworks: Les Anciens Canadiens (1867), by Philippe A. de Gaspé; Une Relique(1898), by Louis Fréchette, and La Cage (1990), by Anne Hébert.
