Resumen de Os predicados existenciais do Guajá

This study intends to present evidences of non-existence of the subject in existential predicates of the Guaja language (Tupi-Guarani family) and to defend the hypothesis that this characteristic can be extended to the other languages of the family. The interpretation of the syntactic status of the person markers in Guaja existential predicates is the key to substantiate this hypothesis.

Neste artigo pretende-se apresentar evidências da não existência de sujeito nas orações existenciais da língua Guajá (família Tupí-Guaraní) e defender a hipótese de que tal característica pode ser estendida às demais línguas da família. A interpretação sobre o status sintático da marcação de pessoa, nos predicados existenciais do Guajá, é a chave para fundamentar essa hipótese.
