Resumen de El amor y la expresión petrarquista en la Fábula de Polifemo y Galatea de Góngora

En el presente artículo nos proponemos analizar la Fábula de Polifemo y Galatea gongorina a la luz de la influencia petrarquista, con el propósito de examinar cuánto hay de presencia y cuánto de superación de dicho movimiento. Para ello nos centraremos, fundamentalmente, en el episodio amoroso entre Acis y Galatea, a fin de abordar tres cuestiones decisivas: 1) El tratamiento del concepto del amor y la conjunción de elementos renacentistas —la armonía, el mito de la Edad de Oro, el conflicto entre arte y naturaleza— y de elementos barrocos —la desmesura, la artificiosidad, el desorden—, ya asimilados a la lírica española durante el siglo xvi, que Góngora logra emular al introducirlos en su singular lenguaje poético; 2) El tratamiento gongorino de la imaginería petrarquista, especialmente notorio en dicho episodio, y 3) El empleo de ciertas estructuras petrarquistas.

In this article we propose to analyze the Fábula de Polifemo y Galatea of Luis de Góngora in the light of the Petrarchan influence, with the purpose of considering how much there is of presence and how much this movement has overcome. To do this we will mainly focus on the love episode between Acis and Galatea, in order to aboard three critical issues: 1) the treatment of the concept of love and the conjunction of renaissance elements -the harmony, the myth of the Golden Age, the conflict between art and nature- and baroque elements -the excesses, the artificiality, the disorder-, already assimilated to the Spanish lyric during the XVI century , that Góngora achieves to emulate when introducing it in his unique poetic language; 2) the Gongoristic treatment of the Petrarchan imagery, especially notorious in this episode, and 3) The use of certain Petrarchan structures.
