Resumen de La enseñanza de la entonación en la Práctica Integral de la Lengua Inglesa

El presente artículo aboga por una enseñanza comunicativa de la entonación en la asignatura Práctica Integral de la Lengua Inglesa, basada en sus características y funciones en relación con el papel que juega en transmitir nueva información dentro del texto, a la vez que ofrece algunos referentes teóricos que apoyan esta posición. El mismo se sustenta en estudios lingüísticos en el área de la pronunciación realizados por Morley, Brazil, Cruttenden, Ohala, Gussenhoven y Tench.

The present article calls for a communicative teaching of intonation in the subject Integrated English Practice, based on its features and functions related to the role it plays to convey new information within a text, and provides some theoretical references to support this position. It is based on linguistic studies in the area of pronunciation carried out by Morley, Brazil, Cruttenden, Ohala, Gussenhoven y Tench.
