  Katalanische Literatur d’Alfred Morel-Fatio (publicat al Grundriss der romanischen Philologie, Estrasburg, 1897 [1893], vol. II, Tom II, p. 70-128) és un dels primers resums d’història de la literatura catalana fets amb criteris de la filologia moderna. A banda del seu valor històric, aquesta monografia té un gran interès per als historiadors de la literatura catalana. Per una banda, ens permetrà saber el coneixement que tenia sobre aquesta literatura un dels millors hispanistes francesos de finals del XIX i principis del XX. Per l’altra, i tenint en compte la notable repercussió internacional del Grundriss dirigit per Gustav Gröber, sabrem quina visió de la literatura catalana va difondre Katalanische Literatur entre els filòlegs europeus de l’època. Així mateix, contextualitzarem aquesta obra tot destacant la metodologia i fonts que va emprar. Per acabar, cal dir que el nostre article forma part d’un treball en curs l’objectiu del qual és l’estudi crític i la traducció al català de l’obra citada.

  Katalanische Literatur by Alfred Morel-Fatio (published in Grundriss der romanischen Philologie, Strasburg, 1897 [1893], vol. II, part II, p. 70-128) provides one of the first overviews of the history of Catalan literature with modern philology criteria. Besides its historical significance, this monograph is of particular interest for Catalan literature historians. On the one hand, it will enable us to consider the knowledge concerning this literature which one of the best French hispanists in the late 19th century achieved in that period. On the other hand, and in view of the considerable international impact of the Grundriss edited by Gustav Gröber, we shall know the vision of Catalan literature that Katalanische Literatur disseminated among the European philologists in the 19th century. Furthermore, we shall contextualize it by pointing out the methodology and the sources Morel-Fatio used. Finally, we would like to recall that this article is part of a work in progress in which we shall undertake a critical study of this monograph and its translation into Catalan.
