    The recent declaration of Sustainable Tourism for Development for year 2017 by the United Nations (UN) focus a renewed attention to advance the tourism industry which contributes to the pillars of sustainability. Based on the literature review of creative sustainable planning approaches and promotion of green initiatives such as urban mobility, in three different European Smart Cities: Manchester, Amsterdam, and Barcelona. This paper addresses the socio-economic benefits and the way sustainable tourism infrastructure moulds new culture, values, and driving innovation for an intelligent city. Identifying the challenges ahead with relevance to making tourism both sustainable and profitable for different stakeholders, the future opportunities in integrating innovative technology solutions provide a source of recommendation in re-defining the landscape that makes an intelligent city from the sustainable tourism approach.

    A decorre da declaração de Turismo Sustentável para o desenvolvimento no ano 2017 pelas Nações Unidas (UN) concentrar uma atenção novo para enfrentar da indústria do turismo com focada em pilares da sustentabilidade. Referentes na revisão da literatura de abordagens de planeamento criativo e sustentável e promoção de iniciativas ecológicas, como a mobilidade urbana, em três cidades Europeias inteligentes diferentes: Manchester, Amesterdão e Barcelona. Este artigo de ponderar os benefícios socioeconômicos e demonstar como a infra-estrutura sustentável do turismo molda nova cultura, valores e impulsiona a inovação para uma cidade inteligente. Identificar os desafios com relevância para tornar o turismo sustentável e lucrativo para as diferentes partes interessadas, as oportunidades futuras de integração de soluções tecnológicas inovadoras constituem uma fonte de recomendação na redefinição da paisagem que faz da cidade inteligente uma abordagem de turismo sustentável.
