  This article makes a study of the translations in Portuguese made by Dom Marcos Barbosa and Ferreira Gullar of two masterpieces of children's and young people's literature, from the French language and, consequently, from their culture: The boy with green thumbs (2008) and The little prince (2013). Translated works will be studied in comparison to their original versions, seeking to discuss some aspects of the social scene of their translations, as well as the possible expectations answered by them, reflecting the background and educational formation of each translator. Texts of translation teachers, like Rónai (2011, 2012) and Brito (2012) will be used, and other texts that discuss the role of the act of translating literature.

  Esse artigo faz um estudo das traduções em português feitas por Dom Marcos Barbosa e por Ferreira Gullar de duas obras-primas da literatura infantil e juvenil, provenientes da língua francesa e, consequentemente, de sua cultura: O menino do dedo verde (2008) O pequeno príncipe (2013). As obras traduzidas serão estudadas em comparação com as suas versões originais, buscando discutir alguns pontos sobre cenário social de suas traduções, bem como as possíveis expectativas respondidas pelas traduções, refletindo tanto a experiência quanto a formação de cada tradutor. Serão utilizados textos de professores de tradução, como Rónai (2011, 2012) e Brito (2012), e outros textos que discutem o papel do ato de traduzir literatura.
