Resumen de Fuentes de información y violencia simbólica sobre el habitar migrante latinoamericano, Santiago de Chile (2008-2017)

En este artículo se revisan los resultados de una investigación sobre los discursos generados por tres fuentes de información nacional en torno al tema de la vivienda y el habitar de migrantes latinoamericanos llegados a la ciudad de Santiago entre los años 2008 y 2017. Actualmente en Chile y particularmente en Santiago, el tema ha detonado el interés creciente de autoridades, instituciones públicas y privadas, un sector del mundo académico y la sociedad general. Presuponiendo que tras los discursos existe un afán de informar para avanzar en la resolución de las problemáticas asociadas al fenómeno, llama la atención que la perspectiva y lenguaje utilizados, parecen ejercer grados de violencia simbólica hacia el habitar migrante; complejizando su resolución. Desde esta paradoja, se indaga en los elementos que configuran los discursos generados por las fuentes en estudio y los simbolismos que subyacen tras éstos. Utilizando una metodología basada en el cruce de dos enfoques, provenientes del análisis crítico del discurso y de la antropología visual, se analiza material de prensa digital y televisiva, documentos académicos y material institucional que abordan el tema. Se concluye preliminarmente, que en algunos de los discursos analizados, hay rasgos de violencia simbólica hacia el habitar migrante.

This article reviews the results of a research on the discourses generated by three national sources of information on the subject of housing and the inhabitation of Latin American migrants who arrived in the city of Santiago between 2008 and 2017. Currently in Chile and particularly in Santiago, the issue has triggered the growing interest of authorities, public and private institutions, a sector of the academic world and the general society. Assuming that behind the discourses there is an eagerness to inform in order to advance in the resolution of the problems associated with the phenomenon, it is striking that the perspective and language used seem to exert degrees of symbolic violence towards the migrant population; complicating its resolution. From this paradox, we investigate the elements that make up the discourses generated by the sources under study and the symbolisms that lie behind them. Using a methodology based on the crossing of two approaches, from the critical analysis of discourse and visual anthropology, digital and television press material, academic documents and institutional material that address the subject are analyzed. It is preliminarily concluded that in some of the discourses analyzed, there are features of symbolic violence towards the migrant population.
