Resumen de La Guerra de África en el fondo Alfonso del Archivo General de la Administración (1909-1934)

  En el Archivo General de la Administración (AGA) se conserva un excepcional conjunto de documentos fotográficos sobre la Guerra de África en el fondo de los Medios de Comunicación del Estado y en el Archivo Alfonso. Son objeto de análisis en esta investigación las fotografías pertenecientes a este Archivo, realizadas por Alfonso Sánchez García y su hijo Alfonso Sánchez Portela (Alfonsito) durante el primer tercio del siglo XX (1909-1930). Por su cantidad y calidad (1.736 imágenes de significativos hechos acaecidos en el Rif), se trata de un paradigma en la historia de la fotografía española, y por extensión en la historia del fotoperiodismo y de la fotografía de guerra. Así mismo, los reportajes resultan de un gran valor para el estudio de la historia de España en el periodo indicado.

  The Archivo General de la Administración (AGA) possesses an exceptional collection of photographic documentation on the War in Africa, which is found in the State Communications Media collection and in the Alfonso files. The photographs belonging to these Archives, which were taken by Alfonso Sánchez García and his son Alfonso Sánchez Portela (Alfonsito) during the first third of the 20th century (1909-1930), are analyzed in this study. Their quantity and quality (1,736 photos covering the most significant events taking place in the Rif) have made them a paradigm in the history of Spanish photography and also in the history of photojournalism and war photography. In addition, these photographs are of great importance in the study of Spanish history in the period in question.
