Resumen de San Agustín Chapultenango y San Antonio Talapa, en la región Zoque de Chiapas

Los análisis ya realizados acerca de los edificios religiosos del siglo xvi en Chiapas hay que añadir los de la región zoque, esto es, al noreste del estado de la Federación de donde ya presentamos Tecpatán y Copainalá. Ciertamente que su geografía se ha abierto al tránsito en años recientes con la construcción de la carretera que liga Tuxtla Gutiérrez con Pichucalco y sale a Villahermosa, en Tabasco, y hacia el sur de Veracruz.
Este nuevo camino abrió posibilidades de desarrollo por donde pasa, al tiempo que redujo el flujo de tránsito por La Ventosa, de Oaxaca, dado lo cual será necesario reforzar la comunicación directa entre Tuxtla y el sur y centro de Oaxaca, puesto que esta última capital posee un desarrollo susceptible de influir notablemente en el noroeste de Chiapas, en la sección de Ocozocuautla, con sus cascos de notables haciendas del siglo xix que pudieran ser aprovechados en venturosos programas de desarrollo turístico.

To the analysis of XVIth century religious buildings in Chiapas, one should add those of the Zoque region to the northeast of the state, where we already presented Tecpatán and Copainalá. The area´s geography geography has certainly become accessible in recent years through the road built between Tuxtla Gutiérrez and Pichucalco, which leads to Villahermosa in Tabasco and to the south of Veracruz. This new road brought development opportunities and reduced traffic through La Ventosa in Oaxaca, which in turn will have an impact on direct communications between Tuxtla and southern and central Oaxaca. The development of this city will have a noticeable influence in northeastern Chiapas, in the area of Ocozocuauta where there are important remains of XIXth century haciendas which might become important destinations for tourism oriented programs.
