The present review focus on biometry discussing different parameters used to estimate the optical power of the intraocular lens after cataract surgery. Considerations for obtaining accurate measurements, different techniques, axial length measuring instruments, corneal power measurement and current formulas are discussed. This study also analyzes the specific considerations such as astigmatism, keratoconic, post-keratoplasty and post-corneal refractive surgery eyes
