    La literatura de la memoria española de principios de siglo ha tenido muy presente el mundo artístico y literario en su retrato de la sociedad de finales del franquismo. Benjamín Prado, destacado autor de esta corriente, ha hecho especial énfasis en el mundo literario en sus novelas, incluyendo referencias a múltiples autores y sus obras, e incluso convirtiéndolos en personajes. Estas estrategias ayudan a formar el canon metaliterario fundamental. Este artículo aborda la ausencia de Julián Ríos tanto desde la perspectiva de una tradición de la ruptura como desde la presencia de esta en el canon metaliterario. Para ello tenemos en consideración la importancia del autor y su narrativa ya en la época en la que se ambientan estas novelas de la memoria, así como también el propio carácter experimental y memorístico de su escritura.

    Early 21st-century Spanish memory literature has paid attention to the artistic and literary world in its portrayal of the society of the late Francoist Spain. Benjamín Prado, a prominent author of this movement, has placed special emphasis on the literary world in his novels, including references to several authors and their works, even turning them into characters. These strategies help to shape the fundamental metaliterary canon. This article discusses the absence of Julián Ríos from both the perspective of a tradition of rupture and the presence of this tradition in the metaliterary canon. To do this, we consider the importance of this author and his narrative already at the time in which these memory novels are set, as well as the experimental and memoristic nature of his own writing.
