  La pesca artesanal es una de las actividades productivas más tradicionales del borde costero chileno, la cual se había desarrollado en forma relativamente autónoma y al margen de las regulaciones del Estado, no obstante, la promulgación de la Ley General de Pesca y Acuicultura en el año 1991 inauguró un periodo complejo en la gestión de las pesquerías artesanales, caracterizado por un acceso regulado tanto al espacio marítimo como a la propia actividad pesquera. En este contexto nuestro objetivo fue identificar y caracterizar las principales dinámicas territoriales que han impactado al sector pesquero artesanal de la comuna de Puerto Montt, entendiendo que esta área de estudio, constituye un caso representativo de la problemática actual de la pesca artesanal, debido fundamentalmente a la creciente intensificación de actividades antrópicas sobre su borde costero.

  Artisanal fishing is one of the most traditional productive activities of the Chilean coastal edge, which had developed relatively autonomously and outside the regulations of the State, however, the enactment of the General Law on Fisheries and Aquaculture in the year 1991 inaugurated a complex period in the management of artisanal fisheries, characterized by regulated access both to the maritime space and to the fishing activity itself. In this context, our objective was to identify and characterize the main territorial dynamics that have impacted the ar tisanal fishing sector of Puerto Montt, understanding that this area of study is a representative case of the current problem of artisanal fishing, mainly due to the increasing intensification of anthropic activities on the coastal edge.
