Post-dictaduras en América Latina: Capitalismo, políticas distributivas e interculturalidad

    Nowadays, the political debate on Latin America is concerned on two main moments: the period marked by the military dictatorship, and the post-dictatorship time. In several Latin American countries, the step towards democracy meant not only the abandonment of military dictatorship, but also new promises of what is thought as “the best,” i.e. challenges with ideals of democracy, justice and distribution policies. In the case of Brazil, the role of the social State embraces public policies with two faces. On one side, it pursues the ideal of helping the bottom of Brazilian society; on the other side, the State is caught by it financial funds. Consequently, in this paper it is postulated that redistribution becomes a fundamental reference for interculturality, particularly in its judiciary-educational aspect.

    El debate político actual sobre América Latina tiene dos momentos: la etapa marcada por las dictaduras y el período post-dictaduras. En muchos países latino-americanos, el paso a la democracia no sólo ha significado el abandono de las dictaduras militares, sino también nuevas promesas hacia lo “mejor”, es decir, hacia desafíos que contemplan ideales de democracia, de justicia y de políticas distributivas. En el caso brasileño, el papel del Estado social conlleva políticas públicas que presentan dos caras. Por un lado, se trata de un ideal que favorece a los menos aventajados de la sociedad y, por otro, de un Estado atrapado por los fondos financieros. En consecuencia, postulamos que la redistribución se torna una referencia fundamental para la interculturalidad, en particular en su aspecto jurídico-educativo.
