Fournier's gangrene is a rapidly progressive necrotizing infection that affects the perianal, perineal and genital fascia. It is an uncommon disease with high mortality, whose diagnosis and early surgical approach is essential to avoid a fatal outcome. We report the rare case of a woman with ulcerative colitis diagnosed with Fournier's gangrene during a severe outbreak of her inflammatory bowel disease. High clinical suspicion was decisive to guide the proper management of the patient.
