    Si el pensar es un acto libre debe poderse ejercer sin subordinarse a las sensaciones, debe ser posible más allá de la impresión correspondiente. Aunque para ello tenga que crear sus propias imágenes, sus fantasmas. Si no puede hacer tal cosa, entonces su libertad debería ser puesta en cuestión, como hace el empirismo. Pero si por el contrario es capaz de seguir avanzando más allá de la sensibilidad, entonces, en nombre de su libertad, debemos reivindicar su poder y promoverlo.
