El objetivo del presente trabajo fue realizar un análisis descriptivo de las acciones a balón parado que se produjeron en la última Copa Confederaciones celebrada en Sudáfrica en el 2009, con el que pretendemos demostrar la repercusión de dichas acciones dentro del juego. Se analizaron todas las acciones a balón parado utilizando una metodología observacional. De las 1865 acciones a balón parado que se produjeron en todo el campeonato, solo 195 acabaron con un golpeo (bien con el pie o con la cabeza) en dirección a la portería. El 45% de los goles fueron conseguidos en dichas acciones.
Los resultados obtenidos muestran que los cuatro equipos que consiguieron más goles en acciones a balón parado fueron los que se clasificaron en la primera fase, siendo el ganador del campeonato el equipo que más goles obtuvo en estas acciones.
The aim of this study was conduct a descriptive analysis of action the set pieces that occurred in the last Confederations Cup in South Africa in 2009, with the aim to demonstrate the impact of such actions in the game. All of the action set pieces were analyzed using an observational methodology. Among all the 1865 action set pieces that occurred in the tournament, only 195 ended with a hit (either foot or head) to goal. The 45% of the goals were achieved in these actions.
The results showed that the four teams having the hightest number of goals from set pieces were classified in the first phase, winning the championship the team that more goals in these actions scored.
