    En el presente trabajo presentamos los resultados obtenidos en la determinación del Indice Cardio-Torácico de Danzer, porque ofrece un interés particular, tanto por los datos paradójicos que se han constatado, cuanto porque ha permitido confirmar el ensanchamiento de la caja torácica de los habitantes de la altura, que ha sido ya señalado por otros autores. El índice Cardio-Torácico propuesto por Danzer como un procedimiento sencillo para apreciar el agrandamiento cardíaco en telerradiografía, consiste en medir el diámetro transverso del corazón en la forma clásica y habitual y luego el diámetro transverso máximo del tórax en la misma radiografía; de aucerdo con el autor, el diámetro transverso del corazón no debe exceder el 50% del diametro del tórax en condiciones normales, apreciándose el agrandamiento cardíaco por el aumento del porcentaje de su diámetro en relación al del tórax.

    In this paper we present the results obtained in the determination of the Index Cardio-Thoracic Danzer, because it offers a particular interest, both because of contradictory data have been found, as because it has allowed to confirm the widening of the rib cage dwellers height, which has been noted by other authors. Danzer's proposed as a simple method for assessing the cardiac enlargement in cephalometric, Cardio-Thoracic index is to measure the transverse diameter of the heart in the classic and usual way and then the maximum transverse diameter of the chest radiograph in the same; aucerdo with the author of the transverse diameter of the heart must not exceed 50% of the diameter of the thorax in normal conditions, appreciating heart enlargement by increasing the percentage of its diameter relative to the thorax.
