El artículo presenta los resultados de investigación a través de un recorrido hermenéutico sobre la lectura del cuerpo a través de la organización y manifestación del Movimiento Social de Piernas Cruzadas en el municipio de Barbacoas, Nariño, Colombia. El artículo traduce los elementos simbólicos, discursivos, representativos e imaginarios de las y los participantes en el movimiento, en su relación con el contexto socio político de la región y las ilaciones culturales como comunidad afrocolombiana, en una articulación de tres elementos claves: movimiento social, cuerpo y sexo.
