    Este artículo analiza los fenómenos de la fuga de cerebros y de las generaciones perdidas, identificando fallos estructurales, tanto a nivel nacional como en un contexto global, que no sólo están relacionados con la carrera científica, sino con la forma de practicar y evaluar la ciencia y con la falta de integración de la ciencia en la sociedad. Se analizan los problemas causados por esa falta de integración, identificando un amplio rango de propuestas que replantean la forma de hacer ciencia (para hacerla más fiable, efectiva, transparente y democrática) y que pueden incrementar la presencia de la ciencia en la sociedad y de la sociedad en la ciencia.

    This article analyzes the phenomena of the brain drain and the lost generations, identifying structural failures, both nationally and in a global context, which are not only related to the scientific career, but also to the way of practicing and evaluating science and to the lack of integration of science in society. The problems caused by this lack of integration are analyzed, identifying a wide range of proposals that rethink how to do science (to make it more reliable, effective, transparent and democratic), and that can increase the presence of science in society and of society in science.
