Los monjes acemetas y la incomunicación por custodia de los legados de Félix III (II) de Roma en Constantinopla (483-485)

    El apoyo del patriarca Acacio de Constantinopla a Pedro Mongo de Alejandría y la proclamación del Henotikon por el emperador Zenón provocaron el llamado “cisma acaciano”. En los primeros años del mismo, Félix III (II) de Roma envió a Constantinopla varias legaciones para intentar reconducir la situación. Sin embargo, los legados fueron incomunicados al llegar a aquella ciudad por Zenón y Acacio; se les arrebataron los documentos que portaban y se les impidió tener contacto con los monjes acemetas, partidarios de la propuesta. Este artículo pretende estudiar los pormenores de la incomunicación de los diversos legados, las razones que tuvieron Zenón y Acacio, la actitud de los acemetas ante las mismas y las decisiones tomadas por Félix III (II).

    The support given by Patriarch Acacius of Constantinople to Peter Mongus of Alexandria and the proclamation of Henotikon by the emperor Zeno provoked the so-called "Acacian Schism". In the first years of it, Felix III (II) of Rome sent to Constantinople several legations to redirect the situation. However, the legacies were cut off when they arrived in that city by Zeno and Acacius; the documents they carried were taken from them and they were prevented from having contact with the akoimetoi monks, supporters of the papal proposal. This paper aims to study the details of the incommunication of the different legacies, the reasons that led to Zeno and Acacius, the attitude of the akoimetoi monks before them and the decisions taken by Felix III (II).
