Resumen de Conocimiento de los códigos de Bioética y de conducta profesional y su influencia en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje clínico en Odontología.

  Introducción: Los dilemas derivados de la bioética aplicada al campo de la Odontología son motivo de creciente interés, generando la necesidad de analizar el grado de conocimiento de los códigos de bioética en los estudios de pregrado.

  Objetivos: Este trabajo pretende investigar el grado de conocimientos de los códigos de bioética y de conducta profesional, a través del análisis de los discursos de los actores involucrados en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje clínico en la asignatura de Prótesis Totales de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Chile: docentes, estudiantes y pacientes.

  Material y Método: Esta investigación se inscribe dentro del Paradigma interpretativo, utilizando una metodología cualitativa, que interpreta la realidad de las prácticas docentes, en su escenario natural y según las voces de los actores involucrados. La recolección de los datos se realizó a través de diversas fuentes de información. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron: análisis documental, observación no participante y entrevista semiestructurada. Para el análisis de los datos, se identificaron los temas significativos para determinar las unidades de registro y categorizar la información. Para la comprensión de los procesos involucrados en el fenómeno de las prácticas educativas estudiadas, en la etapa de resultados, se presenta la información empírica, a través de la descripción de tendencias, y del análisis explicativo que reconstruye el sentido de la información obtenida desde la perspectiva de los investigadores.

  Resultados: En la discusión, se establecen relaciones entre las tendencias dominantes por categoría, explicadas empíricamente y en relación directa con el propósito planteado. En relación a las categorías de análisis propuestas y sus respectivos Indicadores, el conocimiento de los Códigos Bioéticos es un tema deficitario. Otros temas, analizados como indicadores, también han demostrado falencias: comunicación, confianza, responsabilidad, profesionalismo y actitudes hacia la profesión. En relación al análisis del discurso de los entrevistados en torno a estas temáticas, para cada uno de ellos tiene un personal significado, lo cual impide tener una visión de conjunto en cuanto a lo que la asignatura pudiera establecer como conceptos mínimos desde donde comenzar el diálogo reflexivo de las prácticas docentes.

  Conclusiones: Los temas Éticos y Bioéticos, son de reciente instalación en la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Chile, por lo cual es necesario seguir reflexionando en torno a la docencia valórica que se entrega.

  Introduction: The dilemmas arising from the application of bioethics in the field of dentistry are of increasing interest, creating a need to analyze the degree of knowledge of codes of bioethics at the undergraduate studies.

  Aims: This work pretends to investigate the degree of knowledge of the Bioethics Codes and of Professional Behavior, through the analysis of the speeches of the actors involved in the process of teaching and clinical learning in the Total Prosthesis subject of the Odontology Faculty of Universidad de Chile: teachers, students and patients.

  Material and Method: This investigation is part of the Interpretative Paradigm, using a qualitative methodology, which interprets the reality of the teacher’s practices, in its natural scenario and according to the voices of the actors involved. The data collection was made through diverse information sources. The tools used where: documental analysis, non-participant observation and semi-structured interview. For the data analysis, the most significant themes where identified to determine the registry unities and categorize the information. For the comprehension of the processes involved in the studied educational practices phenomenon, in the results stage, the empiric information is presented, through the tendencies description, and the explanatory analysis that reconstructs the sense of the obtained information from the perspective of the researchers.

  Results: In the discussion, relations are established between the dominant trends by category, empirically explained and in direct relation with the raised purpose. In relation to the analysis categories proposed and its respective indicators, the knowledge of the Bioethics codes is a deficient topic. Other topics, analyzed as indicators, also have proved shortcomings: communication, trust, responsibility, professionalism and attitudes towards the profession. In relation with the speech analysis of the interviewed around this themes, it have a personal meaning for each one of them, which hinders of having an overview as to what the subject could establish as minimal concepts of which to start the reflexive dialog of the teacher’s practices.

  Conclusions: The Ethical and Bioethical issues, are of recent installation at the School of Dentistry from The University of Chile, therefore is necessary to continue reflecting on teaching of values delivered.
