Resumen de Percepción de los estudiantes del Instituto Virginio Gómez sobre el clima educacional.

  El propósito de este estudio fue medir el clima educacional percibido por los estudiantes de primer y segundo año de todas las carreras del Instituto Virginio Gómez sede Concepción.

  De acuerdo a la planificación estratégica, en la cual está inserto el cambio curricular de todas las áreas de estudio del Instituto, se consideró necesario obtener una visión real de los estudiantes acerca del clima educacional considerando que éste trasmite valores, creencias, normas y hábitos de comunicación; crea condiciones para el desarrollo o inhibición de habilidades; fomenta estilos competitivos y solidarios, promueve expectativas positivas y negativas, y fortalece o debilita la auto confianza.

  Se utilizó el cuestionario Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure versión en español (DREEM) el cual fue aplicado a un grupo de 1.058 estudiantes de primer y segundo año de todas las carreras en el Instituto Virginio Gómez de Concepción. Los resultados revelaron que el clima educacional es positivo para los estudiantes y que las fortalezas se concentran en la percepción del proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje y en la percepción que tienen de sus docentes. Las debilidades se observan en la auto percepción académica, la cual es mayor para los hombres, aunque las mujeres desarrollan más la auto confianza.

  The purpose of this study was to measure the educational climate perceived by first and second year students from all areas of study at Instituto Virginio Gómez of Concepción.

  According to strategic planning, in which is embedded the curricular change of all areas of study by the Institute, it was considered necessary to obtain a real vision of the students about the educational climate that transmit values, believes, norms and communication habits; create conditions for the development or inhibition of skills; foster competitive and solidarity styles, promote positive and negative expectations and strengthens or weakens the self confidence.

  The Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure (DREEM) questionnaire was applied to 1058 first and second year students of all programs at Instituto Virginio Gómez of Concepción. The results confirmed that the educational climate is positive for the students and the strengths are concentrated in the perception of the teaching and learning process and in the perception that the students have of their teachers. The weaknesses are seen in the academic self perception, which is larger in men, though women develop more the self confidence.
