    Este artículo analiza la relación entre la libertad de prensa y las amenazas a la seguridad que la sociedad occidental, americana y europea están afrontando en los últimos tiempos. La crisis de refugiados en Europa ha aumentado la sensibilidad sobre el fenómeno de la inmigración en ambos sentido, positivo y negativo y la emigración se ha convertido en un desafío para las sociedades. Por eso, el propósito de este estudio es analizar la narrativa sobre la inmigración en los Estados Unidos basada en cómo los periódicos norteamericanos representan el terrorismo, cómo contribuyen a crear estereotipos sobre grupos migratorios y cómo esto podría afectar a la política (elección de Trump), con la intención de contribuir al debate de ideas sobre el lenguaje que usan los medios de comunicación y su influencia sobre el votante-consumidor mediático.

    This article is about the relation between the freedom of the press and the security threats that occidental democracies, both European and American, are facing now. The refugee crisis in Europe has raised the sensitivity on immigration issues positively and negatively. Immigration is a challenge for societies, so the purpose of this study is to analyze the US current narrative on immigration based on how the newspapers from United States represented terrorism and contributed to shape the creation of stereotypical ideas about immigration groups and how that could have affected politics (Trump election). All this aims to contribute to a growing body of literature on language used by the media and its influence over the consumer media-voters.
