Two early Old Babylonian “Mananâ” archives dated to the last years of Sumu-la-El

    In this article, two early Old Babylonian text groups are published. One group has Ea-dāpin as its protagonist, and the other Ibbi-Ilabrat. Both text groups are part of the so-called “Mananâ texts”, that were found in the area of Kish. Most of the texts are loan documents. The main interest of these two text groups lies in the fact that they are dated to the final years of the reign of Babylon’s first king, Sumu-la-El.

    Dans cet article, deux groupes de textes du début de l’époque paléo-babylonienne sont publiés. Le premier a pour protagoniste Ea-dāpin, et le second Ibbi-Ilabrat. Ces documents font partie de ce qu’on appelle les « textes de Mananâ », qui ont été trouvés dans la région de Kish. La plupart des textes sont des documents de prêt. L’intérêt principal de ces deux groupes de textes réside dans le fait qu’ils sont datés des dernières années du règne du premier roi de Babylone, Sumu-la-El.
