Resumen de Vernacular architecture of La Mancha in rural landscape of the 21st century. From agrarian functionality to artistic metamorphosis as a criteria for assessment of protected areas

  La arquitectura es una manifestación cultural indisociable al paisaje tradicional de La Mancha. En su origen es un bien de uso, con una función definida con exactitud de vivienda, lugar de trabajo o de culto, almacén, granja, etc. Sin embargo las transformaciones del medio rural acaecidas durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX en La Mancha han originado un cambio de uso y de función de la arquitectura popular de manera que es a la sociedad actual a la que le corresponde darle una nueva utilidad que permita, bien su conservación, bien su desaparición.

  En este sentido se propone conocer y estudiar estas manifestaciones patrimoniales en La Mancha, concretamente en una zona reconocida a nivel internacional por sus valores naturales y culturales: La Reserva de la Biosfera de La Mancha Húmeda. El segundo objetivo es describir esta arquitectura popular a partir de una explicación multifactorial y, a partir de ahí, catalogar, inventariar y clasificar la diversidad tipológica de esta arquitectura rural.

  The architecture is a cultural expression inseparable to the traditional landscape of La Mancha. Originally it is a good of use, with a defined function accurately for housing, workplace or worship, warehouse, farm, etc. However the transformation of rural areas occurred during the second half of the twentieth century in La Mancha have resulted in a change of use and function of vernacular architecture so that is today’s society to which belongs give a new utility that allows , a good conservation or its disappearance. In this sense it aims to identify and study this heritage in La Mancha, specifically in an area recognized internationally for its natural and cultural values: Biosphere Reserve of La Mancha Húmeda. The second objective is to describe this vernacular architecture from a multifactorial explanation and, from there, inventory and classify the typological diversity of this rural architecture.
