    Hace cien años, en marzo de 1917, en Clifton Springs, Nueva York; se produce una reunión que se considera el inicio formal de la Terapia Ocupacional como profesión, en la cual se constituye la Sociedad Nacional para la Promoción de la Terapia Ocupacional ( NSPOT), la actual Asociación Americana de Terapia Ocupacional (AOTA).

    Convencidos del poder curativo de la ocupación, se reúnen allí George E. Barton; William R. Dunton, Jr; Thomas B. Kidner; Eleanor C. Slagle y Susan C. Johnson. Todos ellos se consideranfundadores de la Terapia Ocupacional, junto a Susan E. Tracy y Herbert J. Hall

    One hundred years ago, in march 1917, in Clifton Springs, New York; a meeting was held that is considered the formal beginning of Occupational Therapy as a profession, in which the National Society for the Promotion of Occupational Therapy (NSPOT) is constituted, the actual American Association of Occupational Therapy (AOTA).

    They meet there, all of them convinced of the healing power of the occupation. They are: George E. Barton; William R. Dunton, Jr; Thomas B. Kidner; Eleanor C. Slagle and Susan C. Johnson. All of them are considered founders of Occupational Therapy, together with Susan E. Tracy and Herbert J. Hall.
