    This article introduces the five bifolia of Bamberg, Staatsbibliothek, MS Msc.Bibl.30a, identifying them as the earliest known manuscript witness combining text from the Homiliaries of Angers and St. Père de Chartres, two Carolingian preaching cycles of unknown origin, written in simple Latin. It provides a thorough study of the materiality of the fragments and their provenance as part of a medieval binding, a partial reconstruction of the original collection from which the fragments were taken, a short linguistic commentary, textual evaluation, and diplomatic transcription of the surviving homilies. The evidence presented here offers new information on the origin, composition, and performance of pastoral addresses to the laity in Carolingian Europe. The article also offers novel perspectives on the transmission of these pastoral addresses and encourages the future critical edition of the Homiliary of Angers.

    Cet article présente les cinq bifolios qui constituent le MS Msc.Bibl.30a de la Bibliothèque d’État de Bamberg, et identifie leur contenu: ce sont les plus anciens manuscrits connus qui combinent des Homéliaires carolingiens d’Angers et de Saint-Père de Chartres, deux collections temporales au latin élémentaire dont la provenance est inconnue. L’auteur conduit une analyse détaillée de la matérialité des fragments et de la reliure du manuscrit français du xiie siècle au sein de laquelle les bifolios ont été découverts. Il propose ensuite une reconstitution partielle du manuscrit originel, et offre pour les homélies conservées un commentaire linguistique succinct, ainsi qu’une évaluation textuelle et une transcription diplomatique. Les résultats de cette étude ouvrent de nouvelles perspectives quant à la composition, la transmission, et la récitation des prédications pour les laïques dans l’Europe carolingienne et aprés. Les conclusions démontrent l’intérêt de ces deux collections et encouragent leur édition critique.
