    Con el presente artículo, pretendemos ofrecer un retrato de Castuera y su relación con la Excelentísima Diputación Provincial de Badajoz, institución que tanto ha tenido que ver con el desarrollo del que hoy presume. Distribuimos la información en seis capítulos clave que nos permitirán entender cuáles han sido las heridas de este pequeño municipio pacense, cuáles han sido sus remedios y quién aportó esos remedios para hacer de Castuera un pueblo tan distinto al de 1927. Rendimos un pequeño homenaje a la labor de sus alcaldes hasta finales del siglo XX, a cómo lo enriquecieron con sus gestiones, qué supuso la Guerra Civil y el fenómeno migratorio y, finalmente, cómo el ingenio de un grupo de emprendedores supieron poner trabajo y pan donde sólo había miseria y hambre.

    With the present article, we wish to offer a portrait of Castuera and its relationship with the Excellency of the Provincial Council of Badajoz, the institution that had a lot to do with the development that continues to this day. We cover the information in six key chapters which allow us to understand which have been the wounds of this small town of Badajoz, which have been the solutions and who provided these solutions to make Castuera such a distinct village in the 1927.We pay a small tribute to the work of its mayors until the end of the XX century, hom they enriched it with their efforts, which involve the Civil War and the migratory phenomenon, and, finally, how the ingenuity of a group of enterpreneurs how to put work and bread where there was only misery and hunger.
