    En el reciente proceso de reforma legislativa del matrimonio en que nos encontramos, la parcialmente en vigor, Ley del Registro Civil, ha introducido la posibilidad de que los Notarios puedan celebrar matrimonios. Cuando entre definitivamente en vigor (previsiblemente el 30 de junio de 2018) implementará todo un nuevo modelo organizativo del Registro con la intervención de nuevos operadores jurídicos también para la instrucción completa del expediente matrimonial. Por su parte, la Ley de la Jurisdicción Voluntaria ha reformado el Código civil para introducir, desde 23 de julio de 2015, el llamado «divorcio notarial» para cuando no haya hijos menores.

    In the recent process of legislative reform of the marriage that we are currently experiencing, the partially in force Civil Registry Act has introduced the possibility for the notaries to perform marriages. When this regulation enters definitively into force (probably the 30th June 2018) it will implement a new organizational model of the Registry, with the intervention of new legal operators also for the complete processing of the marriage record. On the other side, the Act on Voluntary Jurisdiction has reformed the Civil Code to introduce, as of the 23rd July 2015, the so-called "uncontested notarial divorce procedure" for cases where there are no minor children.
