Resumen de La exclusión social y sus determinantes relacionados con la salud y la discapacidad

  En este artículo presentamos un análisis realizado a partir de los datos de la Encuesta de Integración y Salud 2012 del Instituto Nacional de Estadística, centrado en observar los perfiles resultantes de la combinación entre discapacidad, pobreza, salud y exclusión social. La hipótesis que se ha formulado sostiene que la probabilidad de padecer una situación de exclusión social aumenta a medida que las personas presentan perfiles que acumulan determinantes sociales que afectan a su salud y a sus capacidades expresadas en limitaciones para la vida cotidiana. Para ello presentamos un constructo de exclusión social basado en la adición de determinantes sociales y que actúa como variable dependiente. Los análisis bivariados y un análisis de regresión logística contrastan la hipótesis formulada y descubren los perfiles de vulnerabilidad que presentan mayores probabilidades de estar excluidos. Se presentan también las limitaciones del estudio y propuestas para seguir profundizando en análisis de las relaciones entre salud, exclusión social y discapacidad.

  In this article we present an analysis of data from the 2012 Survey on Integration and Health by the Spanish National Institute of Statistics. The analysis aims to determine the different profiles arising from the combination between disability, poverty, health and social exclusion. The resulting hypothesis asserts that the more individual is impacted by social determinants affecting health and their ability to carry out daily activities, the more likely they are to be in a situation of social exclusion. To demonstrate this, we present a construct of social exclusion based on the addition of social determinants and which acts as a dependent variable. The bivariate analyses and a logistic regression analysis verify the hypothesis and reveal profiles of vulnerability that have an increased likelihood of social exclusion. The article also presents the limitations of the study and proposals for the continued in-depth analysis of the relations between health, social exclusion and disability.
