    Este artículo presenta a una de las figuras más destacadas del movimiento pacifista, una mujer, Bertha von Suttner, que vivió a caballo entre el siglo XIX y el XX y que demostró con su vida y sus hechos que «la lucha» por la paz se puede librar y ganar con voluntad, recursos y convicción. Creadora y promotora de múltiples asociaciones y conferencias del movimiento pacifista, su acción se centró en difundir los ideales de paz que fueron retomados unos años más tarde por, entre otros, la Organización de las Naciones Unidas. Su vida y su labor siguen vigentes en nuestros días, y algunas organizaciones internacionales le deben su existencia.

    This article introduces one of the most important figures of the peace movement, Bertha von Suttner, a woman that lived between the 19thand the 20thcenturies and showed with her life and deeds that «the fight» for peace can be waged and wined over with determination, resources and conviction. She was the creator and promotor of several peace associations and conferences, and her actions focused on the dissemination of the ideals for peace that were later taken on by the Organization of the United Nations, among other. Her life and endeavors are still alive today, and some international organizations owe their existence to her.
