O trabalho com as famílias que medeia a entrada das crianças/jovens no acolhimento residencial e o seu regresso ao contexto familiar permanece por analisar. A presente investigação teve por objetivo estudar os processos socioeducativos que promovem a reunificação familiar no acolhimento residencial em Portugal. Foi criado um questionário de resposta online, ao qual responderam 91 profissionais de instituições de acolhimento residencial de três distritos do país. Os resultados do estudo indicam uma maior participação dos profissionais das casas de acolhimento durante o período de acolhimento da criança/jovem, bem como que a metodologia de intervenção grupal não é ainda privilegiada.

The purpose of this research was to study the socio-educational processes that promote family reunification in the context of residential care in Portugal. An online survey was created, to which 91 professionals from residential homes in the districts of Aveiro, Porto and Viseu answered. The results of the study show a greater participation of the professionals of the residential care units during the period the child spent in foster care, as well as they show that methodology of group intervention is not yet favored.
