    This work seeks to reflect on the forming of musical educators, from the survey of the Brazilian historical, social and political context in the process of schooling and teacher training in music, as well as the norms present in Brazilian educational legislation, their understandings, contradictions and influences in the formation and profile of the music teacher. It is aimed that such reflections allow us to rethink about the formation of this professional in the present time, so that there is greater awareness of the importance of the discipline Music in the integral formation of individuals, and more investments in undergraduate courses in music and in continuing education

    Este trabalho busca refletir sobre a formação de educadores musicais, a partir do levantamento do contexto histórico, social e político brasileiro no processo de escolarização e formação docente em música, como também, as normatizações presentes na legislação educacional brasileira, seus entendimentos, contradições e influências na formação e no perfil do professor de música. Objetiva-se que tais reflexões permitam repensar sobre a formação deste profissional na atualidade, para que haja maior conscientização da importância da disciplina Música na formação integral dos indivíduos, e mais investimentos nos cursos de licenciatura em música e em formações continuadas.
