While by no means discounting the "Tesla effect" or the broader impact of growth in graphite consumption by the battery market, AMG does not expect to see the emergence of a supply gap in bulk graphite - a view worth bearing in mind, given the looming presence of large new mines, such as that planned by Dalgraphite in Russia's Far East ( see pp56-57 ).
At present, rising consumption in lucrative, high-tech applications remains a debtor's note to the market.
