Resumen de Hacia una Etnobiología Cognitiva: Tecnología Hidráulica Mesoamericana y Cognición en los Altos de Morelos

El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo situar la relevancia de las tecnologías hidráulicas a la luz del viraje ontológico en la etnobiología contemporánea. Actualmente, los sistemas de captación y almacenamiento de agua pluvialdel norte de Morelos, más allá de su uso funcional, albergan una biodiversidad de flora y fauna. A partir de una crítica al planteamiento cognitivo en etnobiología sobre la modularidad de la mente, haremos ver una maneraen que la cognición articulada a la tecnología en términos del concepto de affordances, permite incorporar las visiones actuales de la gente sobre las transformaciones tecnológicas. Nos interesa sugerir que, si se toma enserio la concepción técnica de la gente vinculada a cambios y continuidades del ambiente, entonces los sistemas hidráulicos conformados por jagüeyes, apantles, ollas, entre otros dispositivos situados al norte del estado deMorelos, reflejan un tipo de cognición folk más flexible, lo cual implica a su vez el abandono de una clasificación monolítica de la naturaleza que promueve una biodiversidad basada en representaciones.

The present work seeks to explain hydraulic technologies issues taking into account the ontological turn in contemporary ethnobiology. Currently, water supply systems from the north of Morelos, beyond its functional use, shelter a biodiversity of flora and fauna. Departing from a critique of the cognitive approach in ethnobiology about the modularity of the mind, we will see a way in which cognition linked to technology in terms of the concept of affordances, allows to incorporate the current visions of people on technological transformations. We are interested in suggesting that, if one takes seriously the technical conception of the people linked to changes and continuities of the environment, then the hydraulic systems conformed by jagüeyes, apantles, pots, among other devices located to the north of the state of Morelos, reflect a type of more flexible folk cognition, which in turn implies the abandonment of a monolithic classification of nature that promotes a biodiversity based on representations.
