Funciones sintáctico-textuales de tiempos verbales en notas deportivas

    En esta investigación analizamos las funciones sintáctico-textuales que despliegan los tiempos y modos verbales empleados en un corpus de 100 notas deportivas de cuatro diarios mexicanos. Luego de examinar el corpus, advertimos que el modo indicativo y y las formas no personales constituyen el 94% de nuestros materiales. Por un lado, del modo indicativo, presente y pretérito perfecto son los tiempos más recurrentes, ambos refieren eventos retrospectivos, el presente particularmente en titulares y el pretérito en el cuerpo de la nota. Por otro lado, de las formas no personales, el infinitivo, especialmente, en perífrasis modales, es la forma más asidua de las notas; el periodista deportivo emplea estas perífrasis para tomar cierta distancia respecto de lo enunciado por otros.

    In this study, we analyze the most significant syntactic-textual features of verb tenses and moods in a corpus based on 100 sports-related articles in four Mexican newspapers.

    Analysis reveals that the indicative mood and the non-finite forms constitute 94% of the corpus. With regard to the indicate mood, simple present and simple past are the most frequent tenses; they both express past events, present in the headlines and past in the articles. Among the non-finite forms, the infinitive is the more common form, especially in modal constructions; the sports journalist uses the infinitive in periphrasis to establish some distance from what others have said.
