La motivación de los estudiantes de enfermería

    La motivación es un componente de fuerza que impulsa a los individuos a alcanzar un objetivo. En el proceso docente educativo, intervienen procesos cognitivos, afectivos y volitivos necesarios para el desarrollo del aprendizaje, en el que la motivación constituye el factor principal, sin motivación es muy difícil aprender con calidad. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo indagar acerca de la motivación que tienen los estudiantes en vista a mejorar sus rendimientos académicos. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo mediante encuesta y evidencia documental con una muestra de los 46 estudiantes de tercer ciclo de la carrera de enfermería en la Universidad Católica de Cuenca Sede Cañar. En los resultados se encontró que el mayor porciento desea estudiar la carrera, la edad promedio es de 20- 22 años, la mayoría recibió orientación vocacional, en los factores decisivos estuvieron presentes las actitudes - aptitudes y la familia, refieren poseer las características adecuadas para la carrera, gran porciento plantea no tener un presupuesto acorde al perfil seleccionado. En la escala de motivación todos están motivados, unos en mayor y otros en menor grado, coincidiendo estos últimos con menor rendimiento académico. El adecuado seguimiento se reflejó en los resultados académicos

    Motivation is a strength component that encourages people to reach an objective. In the educative teaching process there are some cognitive affective and volitional processes involved, that are necessary for the well development of learning, in which motivation is the main factor, and it can be said that without it you can learn but it is hard to learn with high quality. The purpose of this study is to seek for student’s motivation to get better academic achievements. A descriptive study was carried out by means of survey and documentary evidence, the participants of this study were 46 nursing students from the Catholic University of Cuenca, seat of Cañar. The results showed that most of the students want to study the career, and the average age is among 20 to 22 years old, most of them received a vocational orientation and among the decisive factors there were present attitude, capability and family, students said that they have right characteristics for the career, besides the biggest percent stated that they do not have the appropriate budget according to the selected area, and they do not know if they will be able to get a job when they graduate. On the scale of motivation all of them are motivated. Some of them have a greater degree than the others and the less motivated show less academic achievements. The appropriate follow up showed better academic degree of achievements.
