    A partir de la propuesta curatorial de María Fernanda Troya para la exhibición Ver para creer. Fotografía, etnografía, propaganda en el Oriente Ecuatoriano (1893-1940) presentada en Arte Actual, este artículo reflexiona sobre el dispositivo montaje como la “doble exposición” de una metodología para investigar archivos, textos e imágenes fotográficas a partir del cuestionamiento de la autoridad etnográfica e histórica y el valor de documento de la fotografía.

    From the curatorial proposal of María Fernanda Troya for the exhibition Seeing to Believe. Photography, ethnography, propaganda in the Ecuadorian Oriente (1893-1940) presented in Arte Actual, this article reflects on the assembly device as the "double exposure" of a methodology to investigate archives, texts and photographic images based on the questioning of historical ethnographic authority and the document value of photography.
