Baudelaire's visions of plastic arts, in particular on painting, marked his aesthetic taste and, consequently, his poetic making. Baudelaire, influenced by the work of painter friends, composed poems to the pictorial creations of these. Throughout the 166 poems that make up The flowers of evil, countless are the references to the plastic arts. The objective of this work is to demonstrate, through the intercrossing of the data, that Baudelaire's vision of art from the 1940s onwards fueled his poetry, especially those of the urban cycle, and at the same time, In composing such poems, as he scrutinized the great city, his vision of "modern" art improved. There is, in our view, a circularity, a reciprocal illumination between the critic and the poet.

As visões sobre artes plásticas que tinha Baudelaire, em particular sobre pintura, marcaram o seu gosto estético e, por conseguinte, seu fazer poético. Baudelaire, influenciado pelo trabalho de amigos pintores compôs poemas á criações pictóricas destes. Ao longo dos 166 poemas que compõem As flores do mal, inúmeras são as referências às artes plásticas. O objetivo deste trabalho é demonstrar, por meio do intercruzamento dos dados, que a visão sobre arte desenvolvida por Baudelaire, a partir da década de 40 do século XIX, alimentou suas poesias, principalmente aquelas do ciclo urbano, e que, ao mesmo tempo, ao compor tais poemas, ao perscrutar a grande cidade, sua visão da arte “moderna” se aprimorou. Há, em nossa visão, uma circularidade, uma iluminação recíproca entre o crítico e o poeta.
