  Son muchos ya los años transcurridos desde la publicación del hallazgo de Otaza, sin que desde entonces se haya abordado su estudio en profundidad. Dado que la ocasión la pinta calva, aprovechando que el Servicio de Restauración de la Diputación Foral de Álava iba a limpiar en varias fases todas las piezas del citado tesorillo, a partir del año 2015 venimos revisando paulatinamente cada una de las piezas del depósito a medida que se van restaurando.

  Para nuestro asombro el atesoramiento de Otaza aún sigue ocultando innumerables sorpresas que esperamos poder ir desvelando en próximos artículos. En el presente tenemos el placer de dar a conocer cuatro interesantísimos dineros que vienen a arrojar algo de luz sobre una práctica tan poco conocida en la Castilla plenomedieval como es la práctica falsaria.

  Many years have passed since the publication of the discovery of Otaza, but since then no in-depth study has been addressed. Since the opportunity knocks but once, taking advantage that the Restoration Service of the Diputación Foral de Álava was going to clean in several phases all the pieces of the aforementioned treasure, from 2015 we have been gradually reviewing each of the pieces of the deposit as they are restored. For our amazement the hoarding of Otaza still continues to hide innumerable surprises that we hope to be able to reveal in future articles. Right now we have the pleasure to present four interesting dineros that come to shed some light on a practice less known in the High Middle Ages of Castile as is the practice of falsifying.
